Below you can find a filterable FAQ list, which should hopefully answer all your questions. If you still have more, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Do I have to attend each week?
Ideally, yes you will attend each week .The course is once a week for five weeks and each week there is a different focus. If a week is missed you will still get the resources and hand-outs and I can talk through the most important points. Where possible I will offer an alternative day to complete that part of the course with another group.
What do I need to bring with me?
Can I bring my toddler or baby?
Toddlers and babies are welcome; they can play in the same room as us.
Can I pay each week or do I need to pay for the whole course up front?
Where possible I ask for full payment before or on the first session.
Can I just pay for one session? i.e. Reading
I advise that the whole course is completed. All of the sessions interlink with each other.
Do I get to keep the information pack/folder you have given me?
Yes! It is a fantastic resource and reference point for the future, full of games, prompts and ideas!
Will there be other parents on your course I can develop friendships with?
Yes I would hope so we all have the common interest of trying to be the best parent we can be.
Can I call you after the course for advice about my child?
I am happy to help in any way I can. I can also work with you or your child individually. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
Can you provide one-2-one lessons?
Yes, please contact me via email with your details, preferred dates and any specific requirements.
My child is in year 3 and I’m concerned about their reading ability. Would this course help?
Yes, it will give you a better understanding of how children learn to read, games to play to enhance reading and positive reading prompts.
If I have concerns about my child shouldn’t I just get a tutor?
The course will enable you as a parent to understand how you can help your child effectively with reading, writing, mathematics and phonics. After the course completion you may feel confident enough that your child isn’t ready for a tutor yet, that you yourself can help them. You may still want you child to have a tutor but as a parent you will have a better understanding of where your child is at with their learning.
I suspect my child has special educational needs would the course be suitable for me?
This course will give you a real insight into how children learn and give you specific information about reading writing mathematics and phonics allowing you to form a more rounded opinion and will help when liaising with the school.
I have no real concerns about my child’s learning but am intrigued by your course, would I benefit from it?
A previous customer said, “I didn’t think I needed the course but now I know I do!” Even if you have no specific concerns about your child’s progress this course will give you knowledge and install confidence that you and your child are on the right track, giving your child the best possible life chances.
I am house bound, would you be able to run the course for me and my friends from my home?
I am happy to run the course anywhere as long as there is a minimum of 4 people taking part.
